Reflection of an Angel- CC
Concept: A person, a symbol of innocence struggling with an inner turmoil, reflecting upon decisions made and those not made.
First panel shows the concept art, it worked well with the concept idea but with a few changes in positioning it came out to be a stronger presence in the finalized piece.
Medium: Ink

Angels Sorrow- CC
Concept: To take the concept of Reflection of Angel and create more emotional depth.
First concept piece has a nice emotional feel to it, but the positioning of the body didn't have the effect that I was looking for. The second concept piece had the body positioning that I was looking for so I combined the emotional feel of the first with the positioning of the second to get the completed piece.
Medium: Pencil

on our own-cc.jpg
Concept: To depict two lovers deciding to forsake everything and go out on their own. First concept sketch helped me develop the setup to depict the two characters and showing them on the horse helped to show them in motion. Having the woman holding on to the man while on the horse helped create an emotional feel.
Getting into the details of the sketch I added a river/ocean background to give the feeling of crossing over into a new life and leaving behind another. From there I added in a celtic style border with the wrapping vines around it in order to make the whole presentation more intereting. Once the sketch was completed I added in a colored texture for the piece to give it a little more depth.
Medium: Pencil, background texture created in photoshop.
